History & Objectives of SEAP
History
SEAP is the Society of European Affairs Professionals established in 1997. It is the recognised organisation of all EU public affairs professionals including those operating in trade associations, corporations, consultancies and other representative bodies. SEAP encourages the highest standards of professionalism for European affairs activity and promotes self-regulation of the profession.

To advance the European affairs profession so that it will contribute to ever better policy outcomes.
Our Mission
In pursuit of its Vision, SEAP has the following Mission.
With respect to European affairs professionals:
- to be the trust mark of the profession by setting and promoting standards of ethical conduct;
- to provide networking on issues of common interest.
With respect to the EU institutions:
- to represent the interests of the profession to the EU institutions;
- to be recognized as an essential partner by the EU institutions.
With respect to the public:
- to improve the understanding of the role of European affairs professionals in the policy process.
Our Values
In pursuit of its Mission SEAP will uphold the Values of Integrity, Transparency, Accuracy, and Confidentiality. Detail of these Values appears in the first four articles of our Code of Conduct.
